One more great event! It was a long trip but I had much fun and really enjoyed the riding with the people of Lithuania and some from Latvia.
After landing in Riga (Latvian capital) and driving 4h to Klaipéda in Lithuania I had a short night sleep and went to the spot of Svencele to check out the event which had started the previous day as the forecast was already good and they decided to start with the freestyle comp which I missed… But I still had some great conditions and could ride with some cool people watching. It was well fun to hear them cheering every time I would land a nice trick. Really motivating and that’s how all events should be!!! ;)
It’s like a big friendly family of riders and they really push each other and make the riding much more fun.

The next day I rode in a mini lagoon with the flattest water ever and I had again a great time as it was surrounded by people watching!
I was tired from the party tho, these guys are just crazy but I like it, dancing on the table already at 10PM. At least you can go to sleep earlier than here in Spain and have some rest for next days… At least that’s why I did, but one of the guys went straight to the water at 6a.m after the party!Picture 9

Then I had one free day and they took me to a really cool village called Nida, which is near Kaliningrad (part of Russia) border, so I can say I’ve been 5km away from Russia!! haha.
The place was great, and we had some local smoked fish, beers, etc.
I must say a big thanks to Viktoras the NKB Importer and to the guys that were so kind and showed me the place,  specially Audrius and his family for the great hospitality.

Now I’m in tarifa for a week, we’ll shoot with the new Evo kite and I will start training again, some spinning bike for tonight! ;)

Cheers,

Portugal

Portugal was cool, I went there with 2 friends on a road trip to look for some nice spots for some kite/wind/surf… lagoa albufeira
It took us a bit more than 6h to make our first stop, Rui Meira’s homespot (Lagoa de Albufeira) where we had a first session in the perfect flat water lagoon… I used to go and train there with him years ago as it’s a perfect spot for freestyle as well as wave riding on the other side of the big dune.
The spot was quite full of people swimming around but also full of seagulls, thousands of them and there was an amazing cloud of birds every time I would approach them.

Then we headed to Guincho for a wave session and some surf even more up North in Peniche… We had one perfect surf day but we didn’t expect the weather to be so cold in summer… 13º in the morning was not fun in august specially when you’re notGaviotas prepared. but the perfect right handed wave of Ericeira could compensate. ;)

In Guincho I met some friends by coincidence, you can see that whenever there is a good swell announced people just pack their car and drive there to ride the mythic wave spot and enjoy the swell. It was insane, nice wave and strong wind.

Now I’m back in Tarifa and will leave in two days to Lithuania for the Kitefiesta event which will be this weekend, should be fun and I’ll be there to show the new material and enjoy the riding with the guys! ;)

Cheers.

Rebel 2010

Here the last video from North Kiteboarding in which I take part with most of my team mates! It was well fun to film there all together and the intro is quite funny with Gianni Aragno and I running after the thief… ;)

The video show all the aspects from the Rebel so you can check how it improved this year and how it works.

cheers

Tarifa, Portugal.

After 2 weeks in Germany to film for the next North Kiteboarding DVD which will come at the end of the year (and by the way will be insane ;) !!)  I got back home and will stay here for two weeks as well.

Germany was great, we went to the Boards Factory to shoot there and it was quite sick to check how the boards are made… just like on Discovery Channel when they show you how a product is made by thousands of pieces.
Then we headed to the PKRA in St Peter Ording but were not really lucky with the wind… still it was cool to see all the newschool competitors after a long time.
I haven’t done much sport during all that time, so I was getting a bit tired of it but on the other side I had time to rest. So now a lot of swimming, biking, climbing, gym and Kiting of course is planned.

The forecast looks really good for the next days in Portugal so why not going and have fun in the waves?? I’ll also visit my good friend Rui Meira who was one of the best riders in the last years but sadly, or not, decided to stop competing and start to study and get smarter… ;) will be nice to meet him again and share some sessions like before!!

Now I’m going to train with Kuky the NKB trainer, and start to be healthy again! haha

Cheers

PS: here my last cover in a Spanish mag! :)
